Qualifications

• Active member of the California Bar in good standing (Required).
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 5–15 years civil litigation experience focused on business/real estate matters.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with dispositive motions experience.
• Experience taking/defending depositions and handling court proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation from pre-litigation through trial and post-trial.
• Draft, review, and argue complex pleadings, MSJs, demurrers, and pre-trial motions.
• Design and execute discovery strategies, manage document productions, and handle disputes.
• Take and defend depositions; represent clients in state and federal court hearings.
• Prepare for mediations/arbitrations and develop trial briefs and witness outlines.
• Maintain high-level client communication aligned with financial and commercial goals.

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Civil Litigation Attorney (5–15 years of experience) to join their Business and Real Estate Litigation practice.

The Role

In this position, you will manage complex, high-stakes disputes involving commercial leases, real estate transactions, partnership disputes, breach of contract, quiet title actions, business torts, and construction law.

If you bring a strong foundation in handling discovery, taking/defending depositions, arguing pre-trial motions, and managing court dockets, your skills will transition seamlessly into commercial and real estate litigation. Responsibilities:

• Independently driving a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters from initial pre-litigation analysis through trial and post-trial proceedings.
• Drafting, reviewing, and arguing a wide array of complex legal documents, including pleadings, demurrers, motions for summary judgment (MSJs), and pre-trial motions.
• Designing and executing comprehensive discovery strategies, managing complex document productions, and handling discovery disputes and motions to compel.
• Confidently taking and defending depositions of parties, percipient witnesses, and expert witnesses.
• Representing clients effectively in California state and federal court hearings, case management conferences, and ex parte applications.
• Preparing for and advocating strategically in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
• Developing trial briefs, motions in limine, exhibit lists, and witness examination outlines.
• Maintaining consistent, high-level communication with clients, providing clear, strategic legal advice aligned with their financial and commercial objectives.

Requirements:

• Active member of the California Bar in good standing (Required).
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• 5–15 years of civil litigation experience, ideally with a focus on business and/or real estate matters (though strong civil defense backgrounds are highly valued).
• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with a proven track record of drafting persuasive dispositive motions and complex pleadings.
• Substantial hands-on experience taking/defending depositions, arguing in court, and participating in mediations/arbitrations.
• Impeccable professional judgment, elite organizational skills, and the agility to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Total Compensation Potential: $200,000 - $300,000 +
