Mott MacDonald, with over 16,000 employees globally, is seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager in California to lead delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, budget, and schedule, and drive client relationships.

You will oversee strategies, compliance, and quality assurance, while promoting innovation and sustainability. This leadership role emphasizes talent development and business growth within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain licensure in applicable states within an agreed timeframe.
• 15+ years of progressively responsible experience managing and delivering civil infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience leading large, complex projects and multidisciplinary teams through planning, design, and construction phases.
• Demonstrated success managing project financial performance, budgets, schedules, contracts, and client expectations.
• Strong client relationship management and business development experience, including pursuit and proposal leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and resource allocation to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, environmental, planning, and construction disciplines.
• Provide strategic oversight, technical guidance, and quality assurance throughout project development and execution.
• Develop project delivery strategies and oversee contract administration, change management, and commercial performance.
• Mentor and develop project managers, engineers, and technical staff, promoting collaboration and professional growth.
• Represent Mott MacDonald at industry events, professional organizations, and client meetings.
