Job summary

Management Performance Associates in Nashville, TN seeks a Senior Civil Estimator to lead our Civil Preconstruction department. You will oversee, approve, and present competitive cost estimates for paving projects, guiding the team to win work and execute on projects.

You will mentor junior estimators, drive bid processes, and provide value engineering while maintaining historical cost data and developing estimating tools for accurate, timely bids.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an estimator in the civil industry.
• Proven track record estimating a range of civil projects (excavation, paving, grading).
• Excellent communication, client/business development and negotiation abilities.
• Sense of urgency to submit complete bids on time.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Lead bid processes for public and private sector projects.
• Identify labor, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals and plans.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare bid packages and present final estimates to senior management.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.
• Provide value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating templates and tools.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to process improvements.
