Job summary

Diamond D Industries seeks a Senior Civil Estimator with expertise in earthwork, site development, grading, excavation, underground utilities and heavy civil projects. You will prepare turnkey estimates and proposals, collaborating with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure economic feasibility and high-quality outcomes.

The role focuses on accurate cost estimation, bid preparation, and proactive cost control throughout the project lifecycle, including risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Solid understanding of construction materials and methods.
• Ten+ years of proven experience estimating civil works.
• Experience with estimating & scheduling software (HCSS, Bluebeam, MSP or Primavera).
• Strong analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret project plans and specifications.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor and equipment.
• Occasional site visits to gather data and assess project requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor’s and subcontractor’s bids and negotiate terms.
• Analyze project requirements to identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide feedback on potential challenges and opportunities.
• Prepare initial project schedule and execution plan.
• Collaborate with owners, engineers, and project personnel.
• Prepare and submit bid proposals to clients and/or project stakeholders.
• Monitor project costs and adjust estimates as necessary.
• Provide cost advice throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participating in project meetings to offer insights and recommendations on cost-related matters.
