Job summary

Synectics Inc. is seeking an experienced civil estimator to prepare accurate estimates and competitive bids for complex civil projects in Florida.

You will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs, and utilize TBC, AGTEK, and HCSS HeavyBid to develop cost projections from bid through final budget. The role requires 5–10 years in civil construction estimating, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, negotiation, organizational and analytical skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Experience with heavy civil/sitework construction and related takeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates and competitive bids for complex civil construction projects.
• Review and interpret construction plans, blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for clearing, earthwork, grading, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, potable water, irrigation, and paving.
• Utilize Trimble Business Center (TBC), AGTEK, HCSS HeavyBid, or related estimating software.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, pricing, scheduling, client correspondence, and negotiations.
• Develop accurate cost projections from initial bid through final project budget.
• Independently prioritize and manage estimating activities to meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with project teams and other stakeholders throughout the estimating and bidding process.
