Job summary

Salas O’Brien in Merritt Island, FL seeks a Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer to lead Fed-Florida projects. You will design civil/site work, manage environmental permitting, and oversee technical quality across complex facilities and infrastructure.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET‑accredited), 8+ years of experience, PE license, and proficiency with Civil3D/AutoCAD/Revit/Bluebeam. Travel up to 25% and a comprehensive benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• BS Civil Engineering degree required from an ABET-accredited program.
• 8+ years of professional Civil Engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• Working knowledge of ASCE, AWWA, FDEP, ICC, ASTM, UFC codes; preference for FBC/IBC/USGBC LEED.
• Knowledge of FDEP regulations and Florida Water Management District requirements.
• Experience with Civil3D, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu or similar software.
• Valid/unrestricted driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Technical responsibilities include civil site design, permitting, water resource planning, and construction management.
• Lead quality control and ensure design compliance to SOWs and codes.
• Oversee design teams and perform cost analyses and material take-offs.
• Support business development and pricing for proposals.
• Mentor interns/new hires and contribute to training programs.
