BlueDot Staff Recruiting is partnering with a major U.S. energy company to hire a Senior Civil Engineering Technician – Substations for leading and reviewing civil design deliverables on substation projects.

The role requires advanced Civil 3D and MicroStation skills and strong technical leadership, with on-site work at eligible office locations. The six-month contract is full-time (40 hours/week) with potential for conversion.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of civil design experience.
• Degree or diploma in a related field is required.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation and leading design teams.

Responsabilités

Senior Civil Engineering Technician – Substations | On-Site | U.S.

BlueDot Staff Recruiting is partnering with one of the largest energy companies in the United States to hire a Senior Civil Engineering Technician – Substations to lead and review civil design deliverables for substation projects. We are looking for highly experienced professionals with advanced civil design software skills, strong technical leadership capabilities, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities while supporting the development of junior designers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and review civil design deliverables for electrical substation projects;
• Coordinate site development, grading, and drainage design activities;
• Support the design and coordination of access roads, internal roads, and utility infrastructure;
• Develop, review, and update civil engineering drawings using industry-standard design software;
• Coordinate design revisions and technical reviews across multiple engineering disciplines;
• Ensure drawing packages and technical deliverables meet project specifications and quality standards;
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior designers;
• Collaborate with engineers and project team members to maintain design consistency and coordinate project requirements.

Requirements

• At least 11 years of relevant professional experience;
• Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or a related field;
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation;
• Demonstrated experience leading and reviewing civil design deliverables;
• Strong understanding of site development, grading, drainage, roads, and utility design;
• Excellent technical coordination, communication, and organizational skills;
• Ability to work on-site at an eligible office location.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electrical substation or transmission projects;
• Familiarity with civil design requirements for electrical utility infrastructure;
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and reviewing complex engineering drawing packages;
• Proven ability to mentor junior designers and support technical team development.

Work Arrangement and Location

• Work arrangement: On-site;
• Schedule: 40 hours per week;
• Duration: Approximately six months;
• Location requirement: Candidates must reside within 50 miles of one of the following eligible offices:

• Openings: One position for each office;
• Employment arrangement: Contract through an employer of record, with potential conversion to permanent employment. Conversion is not guaranteed.

Contractors working 30 or more hours per week may enroll in benefits through the employer of record, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage is available for the employee and spouse. Premiums are paid by contractors through pre-tax payroll deductions.
