The City of Portland, through the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT), seeks a Senior Engineering Associate to support design and review on capital projects. You will lead projects and contribute specialized design work under a Professional Engineer, applying advanced engineering theory and independent judgment.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• FE exam passed at time of hire.
• At least two years civil engineering work experience.
• Experience working for a public agency preferred.
• Ability to deliver customer service with initiative and sound problem-solving.
• Interest in transportation engineering and multimodal transportation safety.

Responsabilidades

• Performs, directs or reviews design work under the general direction of professional engineers.
• Develops project concepts, performs computations, costs/benefits, and produces designs.
• Performs plan review to verify code compliance.
• Manages projects from inception to completion, prepares cost estimates, liaises with City and contractors.
• Operates data systems; analyzes data and produces reports.
• Prepares or directs contract bidding, writes specs, estimates costs, and monitors progress.
