Job summary

SynTerra is seeking a highly motivated Civil/Environmental Engineer to support planning, design, and implementation of infrastructure and environmental projects in South Carolina. This client‑facing role involves water/wastewater systems, stormwater management, site development, and environmental compliance initiatives.

You will manage diverse projects from concept through completion, ensuring quality results for clients across multiple industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mining Engineering (or related discipline).
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in at least one U.S. state.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in civil or environmental engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in project management.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in business development.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop civil infrastructure systems, including water distribution and wastewater collection systems, stormwater management systems, and site grading and drainage plans.
• Prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, and construction documents.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
• Support permitting processes and environmental documentation.
• Conduct site visits and oversee construction activities as needed.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships.
• Manage projects through all phases: proposal, planning, implementation, and close‑out.
• Build and lead multidisciplinary project teams, assigning roles and ensuring proper resource allocation.
• Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure on‑time delivery.
• Review and approve project deliverables for quality and compliance.
• Prepare and review proposals, change requests, and monthly invoices.
