Description

Giffels Webster has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Macomb County office, located in Washington Township. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be working to support local communities with projects that are contributing to improving the quality of life for residents of southeast Michigan.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently on various engineering projects for our municipal clients while assisting architects, developers, property owners, real estate professionals, and the residents of the communities we serve. You will work in a team environment led by a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager on a variety of tasks.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Site plan layout
  • Geometrics
  • Grading
  • Pavement design
  • Soil erosion and sediment control
  • Utility (storm, sanitary, and water) design
  • Stormwater management and green infrastructure design
  • Traffic plans
  • Details
  • Record drawings and specifications
  • Prepare permit applications and cost estimates
  • Attend meetings
  • Conduct field visits
  • Perform construction administration tasks

In-person collaboration and mentoring are paramount to the success of this position. With experience and the approval of your supervisor, you could earn the ability to work a hybrid schedule, up to two days per week remotely and three days in the office.

Requirements

Minimum qualification:

  • You have an engineering degree from an ABET accredited university or equivalent amount of applicable experience.
  • At least 5 years of Civil Engineering experience.
  • Must have experience in AutoCAD software.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PE licensure in Michigan (or seeking to obtain).
  • Experience in Civil3D.
  • Experience with green infrastructure design and stormwater modeling in SWMM.
