Job summary

City of Huntington Beach, Public Works Department, seeks a Senior Civil Engineer in the Utilities Division to manage water, sewer, and storm water projects. The role focuses on design, review, contract administration, and coordination with other departments and agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Four years of related experience.
• Possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license and ability to obtain CA PE registration within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, review construction plans and cost estimates for capital improvement projects.
• Oversee contractors and consultants to ensure compliance with specifications and budgets.
• Prepare feasibility studies and coordinate with other department employees, agencies, utilities and contractors.
• Review bids and coordinate contract changes and progress payments.
