Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 10 years of civil roadway transportation experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Experience developing contract documents (drawings & specs).
• Experience leading design for large projects and delegating tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of TxDOT Roadway Design Manual and Texas MUTCD.
• Proficient in OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D, Excel and Word.
• Experience with local governments, DOTs, private-sector clients.
• Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation design and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to design roadway transportation projects.
• Coordinate with project managers and discipline leads to establish priorities, delegate work, and manage design schedules and deliverables.
• Mentor engineers and designers through technical guidance, constructive feedback, and opportunities to take on greater responsibility.
• Communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders, translating complex concepts and inspiring enthusiasm for the work.
• Assist team leaders and PMs with various project duties when support is needed.
• Participate in development of project fees, schedules, scopes, budgets, staff planning and construction planning; manage change orders.
• Perform quality reviews for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or related engineering technology from an ABET-accredited program.

• Minimum 10 years of experience; experience working in the related civil roadway transportation industry preferred.

• Candidate must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

• Experience in the development of contract documents related to drawings and specifications.

• Experience with leading the design discipline for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead the execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines while working on multiple projects concurrently.

• Knowledge of transportation engineering methodologies and standards including but not limited to the TxDOT Roadway Design Manual and the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, etc.

• Proficient in OpenRoads Designer and/or Autocad Civil 3D design software, Excel, and Word.

• Experience working with local governments, agencies, DOTs, and private-sector clients.

• Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.

• Ability to travel.
