Description

Position Summary: This is a temporary project-based assignment in ENGEO’s Guam office with the potential for full-time employment. This is a unique opportunity to cover deep foundation field observations on a US Naval Base. The project specifications and this role require a minimum of 10 years post-PE engineering experience with substantial experience in deep foundations. The duties will include full-time onsite monitoring and documentation of predrilling, indicator pile installation, production pile installation, and associated pile testing activities.

The assignment is anticipated to begin in fall 2026 and continue through the second quarter of 2027, subject to the contractor’s construction schedule.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform full-time onsite monitoring of predrilling, indicator pile installation, production-pile installation, restrikes, and pile load testing, as applicable.

  • Observe and document pile installation activities, including equipment, pile identification, installation sequence, predrilling conditions, pile lengths and elevations, hammer operation, penetration resistance, interruptions, unusual conditions, and other information required by the approved project forms and procedures.

  • Maintain accurate and complete daily field records, pile installation logs, photographs, and Daily Field Reports.

  • Evaluate field observations against the project specifications, approved installation plans, acceptance criteria, and applicable project directives.

  • Promptly communicate unexpected subsurface conditions, pile damage, refusal conditions, installation deviations, or other concerns to the Contractor’s QC Manager and designated ENGEO project leadership.

  • Coordinate with the Contractor’s QC team, pile-driving subcontractor, testing agencies, Designer of Record, and Government representatives, as appropriate to the role.

  • Participate in preparatory, initial, follow-up, and technical meetings related to deep foundation work, as requested.

  • Review supporting pile-driving records and assist with technical letters, summary reports, responses to comments, and other project documentation, as needed.

  • Follow project safety, security, site-access, and documentation requirements.

  • Perform other project-related duties consistent with the CQC Geotechnical Specialist assignment.

  • Set an example for behaviors including exceptional client service, timeliness of documentation preparation, professionalism, and maintaining a positive attitude in challenging circumstances.

  • Perform other duties as required.
