Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer / Technical Lead for land development in Costa Mesa, CA. The role focuses on technical leadership, mentoring staff, and driving successful project delivery in a hybrid work environment.

Lead projects across commercial, industrial, retail, and mixed-use developments. Strong client relationships and PE licensure are valued, with a pay range of $140,000 to $160,000 per year plus up to 10% annual bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 10+ years of civil engineering or land development experience.
• Experience leading private-sector land development projects.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead projects with minimal oversight.
• Strong client relationships and communication skills.
• Experience operating in a consulting environment.
• Experience reviewing and approving work prepared by other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and engineering oversight across land development projects.
• Mentor engineers and junior staff to grow technical capabilities.
• Review and approve engineering work products.
• Coordinate with clients, municipalities, regulatory agencies, and consultants.
• Guide entitlement, permitting, and agency review processes.
• Maintain high standards for engineering excellence and project delivery.
