WHB Engineers is seeking a Senior Engineer (Engineer IV) to lead a San Mateo team with nine+ years of civil engineering experience. You’ll supervise staff, shape client relationships, and influence how work is won and delivered.

The role blends technical excellence with administrative leadership and growth opportunities. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers on challenging public and private infrastructure projects and mentor others while advancing your own career within a long-standing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Nine+ years of design experience with project management responsibility.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong client-facing skills and professional interaction with clients.
• Self-motivated, goal-driven, and detail-oriented.
• Solid working knowledge of the MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor Staff Engineers.
• Prepare proposals and act as the firm’s main client contact.
• Keep projects profitable, on schedule, and aligned with client requirements.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Contribute to collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
