Job summary

The Austin Company in Mayfield Heights, OH is seeking a Civil Engineer to lead site design for projects and supervise drafting personnel. You’ll design civil components, establish criteria, and prepare specifications in line with Austin standards to ensure efficient procurement.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering degree (4–5 years) and 6–8 years Civil/Structural experience, preferably with PE licensure. Proficiency in Civil 3D is required; relocation assistance is not specified.

Qualifications

• A four to five-year civil engineering degree.
• Six to eight years experience in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer preferred.
• Civil 3D proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design the civil components for sites focusing on economy and safety.
• Assist in establishing civil design criteria with Supervisory Civil Engineer or Chief Structural Engineer.
• Write civil specifications per Austin standards to support procurement.
• Review shop drawings for conformance with drawings and specs to ensure progress.
• File civil design calculations and analyses for future reference.
• Promote effective information exchange across engineering sections.
• Coordinate and supervise preparation of drawings and specs for efficient workflow.
• Maintain current knowledge of design and construction procedures to meet changing priorities.
