Job summary

Simon Property Group is seeking a senior Civil Engineer to lead complex design and development efforts for malls and redevelopment projects in Indianapolis. You will sponsor engineering issues, manage consultants, prepare RFPs, and coordinate with internal teams to meet budgets and schedules.

The role requires 15 years civil engineering experience, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and leadership skills to guide project teams through design and construction phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or Land Surveying.
• 15 years of civil engineering experience in site planning and design.
• 5 years supervising projects or managing other engineers.
• Knowledge of retail development processes and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Sponsor engineering issues during design and construction while respecting budget and schedule.
• Manage technical consultants including civil, geotechnical, traffic engineers, and land surveyors.
• Prepare detailed RFPs for site-related services and review proposals for completeness.
• Prepare contracts and amendments to engage consultants and manage fees.
• Address right-to-build issues with legal and regulatory stakeholders.
• Coordinate intradepartmental design and resolve construction conflicts.
• Travel to project locations for meetings and construction phase visits.
