Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) in Houston Briarpark is seeking a talented Senior Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team. The role focuses on site civil engineering and design for industrial and power infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will lead planning, design, and permitting efforts, with a strong emphasis on AutoCAD Civil 3D, grading, drainage, and roadway design, while ensuring compliance with project standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 12 years of Site Civil Engineering experience.
• Engineer in Training Certification and working towards Professional Engineer licensure.
• AutoCAD and Civil 3D proficiency.
• Experience with grading and Earthwork site design.
• Experience with stormwater drainage analysis utilizing SSA.
• Environmental permitting knowledge (NPDES, wetlands, 404, Phase 1 ESA).
• Site layout experience (parking, access, roadways, ADA compatibility).
• Experience with Roadway/Paving design & specifications.
• Surveying knowledge (topographical, boundary, plats, coordinate systems).
• Geotechnical knowledge (sitework prep, roadway/heavy haul paving design).
• High level of proficiency Autodesk Civil 3D. Desirable MicroStation/OpenRoads/GeoPak.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
• Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, design and manage permits for civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct site visits to ensure construction aligns with design specifications and blueprints.
• Prepare and modify engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, schedules, cost estimates and design plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Establish and verify survey control, lay out secondary control points for columns and walls.
• Generate complete sets of civil design drawings from FEED through IFC stages.
• Develop detailed Civil 3D models with subassemblies, corridors, and feature lines.
• Design, implement, and manage AutoCAD Civil 3D templates, code sets, and standards.
• Lead end-to-end development of civil design packages aligned with scope and client requirements.
• Perform quality checks on 3D models and drawings for accuracy and codes.
• Generate grading, drainage, paving and roadway designs per standards.
• Assess soil, terrain, hydrological and geologic data for project impact.
• Suggest new approaches to improve efficiency and services.
• Collaborate with team on project tasks and assignments.
