Job summary

City of Huntington Beach seeks a Senior Civil Engineer for the Development Services Division of the Public Works Department. The role emphasizes planning, review of grading permits, and coordination with developers to ensure compliance with city standards.

Responsibilities include project management, design reviews, and collaboration with engineering teams, regulatory agencies, and the public to deliver quality public works infrastructure and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering required.
• Four years of related experience preferred in public works or development.
• California PE license eligibility or registration with ability to obtain CA PE within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Design, review and approve grading plans for residential and commercial projects.
• Coordinate with developers, engineers and contractors to ensure permit compliance.
• Manage private development projects and track entitlement documents and approvals.
• Supervise technical staff and coordinate with City meetings as a Department representative.
