Job summary

Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County seeks an Engineer 2 to coordinate and perform complex plans, specifications, construction, and cost estimates for complete streets projects under CHYM. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineering License (PE) required.
• Six (6) years of post‑degree engineering experience, including two (2) years as a professional engineer.
• Valid Driver License.
• Tennessee Professional Engineering License must be obtained prior to completion of the six‑month probationary period.
• Residents of Tennessee to be considered per Metro Ordinance.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex administrative/engineering duties for complete streets projects.
• Coordinates and participates in the design and construction of complete streets projects.
• Designs, prepares, reviews, and/or revises complex plans and specifications for complete streets projects.
• Oversees and performs project feasibility studies.
• Interprets local, state, and federal regulations affecting complete streets projects.
• Oversees all phases of federal grant application and administration for projects.
• Represents department at various meetings as needed.
• May supervise employees, including assigning and reviewing work, evaluating employee performance, approving leave requests, counseling with and correcting employees as needed, and training and/or establishing training requirements for employees.
