Giffels Webster in Birmingham, Michigan, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Oakland County office. You will lead land development projects and collaborate with architects, developers, and property owners to enhance southeast Michigan's communities.

The role requires independent work, team leadership, and strong AutoCAD/Civil3D skills. A hybrid schedule may be available, with some remote days and in-office collaboration.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of Civil Engineering experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD software.
• Exposure to Municipal and/or Private Development projects.

Responsibilities

• Site plan layout and geometrics.
• Grading and pavement design.
• Stormwater management and green infrastructure.
• Utility design (storm, sanitary and water).
• Prepare permit applications and cost estimates.

Giffels Webster has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Oakland County office located in Birmingham, Michigan. As a Senior Engineer you will work on high-profile land development projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life in southeast Michigan.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently on various engineering projects and assist a wide variety of client types from architects, developers, property owners and real estate professionals. You will work in a team environment led by a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager on a variety of tasks.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Site plan layout
• Geometrics
• Grading
• Pavement design
• Soil erosion and sediment control
• Utility (storm sanitary and water) design
• Stormwater management and green infrastructure design
• Traffic plans
• Details
• Record drawings and specifications
• Prepare permit applications and cost estimates
• Attend meetings
• Conduct field visits
• Perform construction administration tasks

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

• You have an engineering degree from an ABET accredited university or equivalent amount of applicable experience.
• At least 5 years of Civil Engineering experience
• Must have experience in AutoCAD software
• Exposure to Municipal and/or Private Development projects

Preferred qualifications:

• PE licensure in Michigan (or seeking to obtain)
• Experience in Civil3D
• Experience with water and sanitary design
• Experience in WaterCAD or WaterGems
• Experience working with MDOT Local Agency Programs
