Job summary

The City of Rancho Cucamonga is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead technical expertise, support Associate and Assistant Engineers, and manage complex capital projects across the City’s Major Projects Program (MPP).

Responsibilities include serving as a technical expert, collaborating with the Principal Engineer, overseeing project delivery, and preparing reports for policy-making bodies. The role requires strong knowledge of codes and engineering practices and leadership of project teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable codes, laws, regulations, and best practices in civil engineering.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
  • Minimum of four years of progressively responsible professional civil engineering experience, including directing the work of others on engineering projects.
  • Alternately, a total of eight years of progressive professional civil engineering experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Valid California Civil Engineer registration issued by the California State Board of Registration.
  • Valid California driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, methods, project development, design, construction, report preparation, and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate professional and sub‑professional engineering work.
