Position Overview

Senior Civil Construction Inspector – a senior field role accountable for ensuring design intent, quality, safety and compliance on civil projects, including roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, pipelines and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of construction progress for civil infrastructure projects.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, identifying discrepancies or conflicts.
• Mentor and supervise junior field staff as needed.
• Collaborate with field representatives, Project Managers, and other stakeholders.
• Serve as the most senior inspector on projects when required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Roads and Bridges.
• Relevant industry certifications.
• Ability to interpret construction schedules.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 8 years of relevant inspection experience may substitute.
• Minimum of 5 years construction inspection experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
• Compliance with HDR’s Drug & Alcohol Policy, including required pre‑employment drug screening.
• Visa sponsorship not available.
