Job summary

LPD Engineering, a Seattle-based civil engineering firm, seeks an experienced Lead Civil CAD Technician to advance toward CAD management. The role is hands-on with leadership, focusing on drafting and standards oversight, with opportunities for growth and development.

The position is in-office Seattle, WA, with a starting salary range described below and a comprehensive benefits package. Expect collaboration across civil projects and ongoing CAD process improvements.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of experience in civil engineering drafting and design.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience preparing civil engineering construction plans and technical exhibits.
• Strong understanding of External references (Xrefs), layouts, sheet setup, layers, surface modeling, profiles and cross-sections, and utility/grading design.
• Experience developing or maintaining CAD standards and workflows.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead CAD technician on multiple civil engineering projects.
• Prepare and modify civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers to support project delivery.
• Develop efficient drafting workflows and maintain drawing consistency.
• Review drawings for quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
• Support project teams during design and construction phases.
