Job summary

The City of Stockton is seeking a Program Manager III to lead various projects within the City Manager's Office. This exempt role directs and manages complex programs, including analyses, with a high degree of autonomy under City Manager oversight.

The incumbent will work a 9/80 schedule onsite in Stockton, reporting daily with occasional need for coordination with departments and external partners. A background check is required prior to appointment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business/public administration or related field; four years of experience managing highly visible programs with citywide impact.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage citywide programs and projects with citywide implications; provide expert professional assistance to City management staff.
• Review and enforce administrative policies and operations; ensure program requirements are met.
• Develop and implement goals, objectives, and work standards.
• Supervise staff; participate in selection and training for professional development.
• Provide staff leadership to task forces, commissions, or boards; offer technical assistance to City departments.
• Prepare periodic progress and program reports; monitor and evaluate activities.
• Represent the City in meetings with government agencies, business and community organizations.
