Job summary

IDA in Bowie, Maryland seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, administer, and maintain complex data, voice, and video networks, ensuring security, availability, and performance. You will plan deployments, upgrade systems, and manage projects while mentoring junior staff and enforcing IT best practices and policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with six years IT experience, including three in network administration.
• Advanced knowledge in IP-based network design, administration and support, preferably Cisco.
• Experience with Cisco Nexus platforms and NX-OS, Cisco VoIP, and ASA firewalls with network hardening.
• Experience with switch image/code updates, VLAN configuration (802.1Q), ACLs.
• CCNP and CCDP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT technology implementations and provide project management documentation.
• Develop integration plans for new systems; ensure compatibility with current infrastructure.
• Maintain classified and unclassified networks to ensure security and performance.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate resources to resolve problems.
• Prepare technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
