Job summary

Agile Defense, LLC is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer in Suitland, MD to lead Cisco ISE deployment and migration efforts. You will configure and manage ISE across the environment, integrate with AD/LDAP, and coordinate with wireless teams for secure, reliable access.

The role demands eight years in government settings with five in leadership, strong ISE expertise, and a focus on Zero Trust and PKI integrations. On-site work five days a week with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Eight years of experience in a large government organization with five years in technical leadership, including four years implementing and troubleshooting Cisco ISE.
• Four years of experience supporting identity-centric or Zero Trust architectures with strong knowledge of segmentation, certificate management, and endpoint posture controls.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot Cisco ISE across RADIUS, TACACS+, 802.1X, device administration, and endpoint authentication.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Cisco ISE on two clustered Cisco SNS 3715 appliances with high availability.
• Support migration from ForeScout CounterACT to Cisco ISE, mapping legacy policies to ISE policy sets.
• Provide wireless support, including basic troubleshooting and coordination with wireless teams.
• Configure and support Cisco ISE integrations with Cisco 9800 WLCs, guest portals, and onboarding.
• Integrate ISE with AD and LDAP, including identity lookups and group-based authorization.
• Deploy and maintain ISE components: Policy Sets, Authorization Profiles, Authentication Rules, TACACS+ device administration, 802.1X, posture and PKI policies.
• Monitor security events using ISE logs and syslog; perform root-cause analysis for authentication issues.
• Manage identity integrations and enforce security policies toward Zero Trust; mentor junior staff.
