Job summary

Eccalon, LLC seeks a highly skilled Microelectronic Design Engineer to join our semiconductor design team in Detroit, MI. You will lead design, development, simulation, and validation of chip-scale systems for next-generation applications.

Responsibilities include schematic capture, layout, DRC/LVS, timing analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize performance, power, area, and manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related field.
• 5 years of hands-on, chip-scale design and layout experience.
• Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics).
• Strong understanding of CMOS design, device physics and circuit theory.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop microelectronic circuits and systems at chip scale from concept to production.
• Perform schematic capture, simulations, modeling, and analysis with industry tools.
• Execute layout, place-and-route, parasitic extraction, and timing analysis of ICs.
• Verify physical design (DRC/LVS) and validate performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development.
• Optimize designs for performance, power, area, and cost.
• Prepare technical specifications and design documentation.
