Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a field-based HVAC service technician to join our team in Illinois. You will be the primary service contact for customers, performing commissioning, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance of commercial HVAC systems on-site.

You will use your knowledge of air conditioning theory, wiring diagrams, and mechanical layouts to troubleshoot issues and provide reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent; EPA certification preferred.
• Typically 10+ years of HVAC experience.
• Valid driver's license for 12+ months; clean record.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control issues using manuals and tools.
• Evaluate operation and recommend repairs or efficiency improvements.
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams.
• Ensure work complies with safety policies and regulations.
• Support emergency service calls and respond promptly.
• Maintain tools, test equipment, and service vehicle.
