The Department of Children and Families in Florida is seeking a Senior Child Protective Investigator to protect children, investigate alleged abuse, and coordinate with families and community partners. This role emphasizes independent case work, testimony in court, and developing safety plans to ensure child welfare.

The position requires extensive field investigations, strong ethics, and the ability to manage complex cases with professionalism.

Formación

• Knowledge of theories and practice in child protection.
• Knowledge of professional ethics relating to child protection and counseling.
• Knowledge of family-centered interview and counseling techniques.
• Knowledge of interviewing and observation techniques.
• Ability to write accurate investigative reports.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct investigations regarding allegations of abuse, neglect, abandonment and/or special conditions for children.
• Collect information through interviews with the children, parents, relatives, neighbors, and other parties.
• Engage families, identify needs and determine the level of intervention needed to include voluntary services or court-ordered dependency services.
• Provide recommendations for development of case plan to Case Manager.
• Prepare appropriate reports/documentation and provide testimony in court.
