Northrop Grumman Corp. invites a Staff Chief Engineer to lead cross-functional teams in design, integration, and production of laser and optical systems for handheld, ground, and airborne products in Apopka, FL.

The role requires 12+ years (or 10+ with a Master’s) in defense programs, systems engineering, and DoD-level leadership, with eligibility for a Secret clearance. Salary ranges and comprehensive benefits accompany the opportunity.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields; OR 10 years with a Master’s degree.
• Demonstrated leadership as technical lead or IPT lead with team-building and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in systems development, integration, and test of complex EO/IR or electronic systems.
• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional engineering teams across proposal, design, manufacturing and delivery phases.
• Develop and manage project budgets and schedules, EVMS, critical path, EACs and workloads.
• Interface with departments to secure staffing and resources.
• Collaborate with suppliers and articulate project requirements.
• Brief leaders on progress and contribute to SOWs, design reviews, and capture/proposal activities.
• Build relationships with customers and homerooms across sectors.
• Oversee proposal inputs and content reviews for internal and external customers.
• Lead department initiatives, technology roadmaps, and IRAD projects.
