Job summary

The State of California is seeking a Chief Engineer II for the Facilities Management Division in San Bernardino. This permanent, full-time role supervises daily building operations, maintenance, and repairs of essential systems in state-owned facilities, following FMD guidelines to ensure reliable performance.

New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum of the classification or the alternate range where applicable.

• Minimum requirements for CHIEF ENGINEER II as stated in the class specification.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily building and engineering operations, maintenance, special projects and repairs of building systems.
• Oversees heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air-conditioning systems and related equipment.
• Operates state-owned and occupied buildings in accordance with Facilities Management Division guidelines.
