Job summary

Facilities Plus is seeking a Building Engineer for a 160,000 square foot Class A office building in Fairfax, VA. The role oversees operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, HVAC, electrical, and energy management systems, with multi-craft oversight and supervisor responsibilities.

The candidate will manage daily engineering operations, review drawings, supervise contractors, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while maintaining equipment and records for reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Building Engineer with supervisory experience.
• BOMA/BOMI or IFMA certification required.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, plumbing, electrical, and energy systems.
• Supervise Engineering Department and manage daily department operations.
• Review MEP drawings and supervise contractor work to ensure standards.
• Maintain records and manage parts inventory and safety compliance.
