Job summary

Viatris is seeking a Senior Chemist for 1st shift to perform general instrumental analysis and oversee analytical methods in a QC setting. You will calculate and review data, support method development and validation, and maintain instruments across multiple techniques.

The role requires a BS with 2+ years of chemist experience or a BS with 4+ years and broad analytical proficiency. Location: Vermont, US; compensation ranges with experience and location.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree and two years of experience as a chemist or equivalent.
• Bachelor of Science degree with four years of experience and proficiency in a range of analytical techniques preferred.
• Combination of experience and/or education will be considered.
• Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation including dissolution baths, HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis spectrophotometers, Instron, balances, pH meter, etc.
• Familiarity with scientific software, basic word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Ability to solve problems with concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions requiring some ingenuity.

• Document activities and check documentation of other laboratory personnel.
• Assist in the investigation of aberrant results and provide written summary reports.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree and two years of experience as a chemist or equivalent.
• Bachelor of Science degree and 4 years of experience and proficiency of a range of analytical techniques is preferred.
• However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
• Must possess knowledge of Various laboratory instrumentation including; dissolution baths, HPLC's, GC's, FTIR, UV-Vis Spectrophotometers, Instron, balances, pH meter, etc.
• Knowledge of scientific software, basic word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis.
• Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. The salary range for this position is: $55,000 - $105,000.
