Job summary

Sherwin-Williams seeks a Senior Chemist for the General Industrial Ecoat Laboratory to lead development, commercialization, and line maintenance for new and existing products. You will collaborate with technical management, sales, and marketing to align needs and timelines.

Desired candidate has a BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, 5+ years in industrial chemical manufacturing with Pretreatment/Ecoat experience, and proven project management.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering required; minimum two semesters of general and organic chemistry.
• 5+ years in industrial chemical manufacturing; pretreatment/Ecoat experience.
• Experience in product development and commercialization is preferred.
• Knowledge of general industrial paint formulations, processing, and Ecoat chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME on Pretreatment technologies and Ecoat interactions.
• Serve as main contact for technical questions from plants, researchers, quality, customers, and internal teams.
• Manage time and resources to meet long- and short-term goals for projects.
• Oversee maintenance of business and new opportunities; analyze, test, and develop formulas.
