Job summary

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) seeks a Senior Chemist I to provide technical oversight for laboratories at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC. This role oversees instrument development, method validation, data review, and safety practices, guiding technicians and chemists in complex analyses of radioactive samples.

The successful candidate will lead analytical projects, collaborate with engineering and national labs, and contribute to process improvements and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or related science.
Experience in a nuclear facility or lab using radioactive material.

Responsibilities

Interprets lab results to ensure analytical tolerance and acceptability.
Provides technical leadership and oversight for lab personnel.
Collaborates on instrument, method development, and troubleshooting.
Prepares technical reports and supports safety and quality programs.
Interfaces with vendors and oversees equipment installation/maintenance.
