Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in the United States seeks a senior scientist to lead laboratory efforts, shaping program and chemistry strategy. You will design and execute complex synthesis plans while applying chemical biology approaches to advance drug candidates.

You will mentor colleagues, publish findings, and represent the company through presentations. A PhD or MS/BS with substantial experience in synthesis, catalysis, and related fields is required, with career growth in a dynamic discovery

Qualifications

• Experience in methodology/catalysis, total synthesis, chemical biology, bioconjugate chemistry, peptide synthesis, and/or physical organic chemistry.
• Ability to solve complex problems.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as an expert in the laboratory, executing on program and chemistry strategy.
• Develop and apply synthetic, medicinal chemistry and chemical biology approaches to build structure-activity relationships.
• Design, synthesize, purify, and characterize drug candidates and probes for target identification, hit-to-lead, and lead optimization.
• Provide scientific mentoring and technical training of team members.
• Establish an external scientific presence, including significant scientific publications and presentations.
