Job summary

Harba Solutions Inc. in Indianapolis, IN seeks a PhD-level chemist to lead development of new chemical products and scale-up processes for customer applications and portfolio expansion.

You will plan and safely execute laboratory projects, advance technologies from lab development through pilot and manufacturing, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate criteria into robust procedures while mentoring team members.

Qualifications

• PhD in Organic Chemistry, Synthetic Chemistry, or Chemistry, or MS with 3+ years of laboratory experience.
• Strong analytical experience with HPLC, NMR, IR, and Mass Spectroscopy.
• Proficiency with technical literature and database searching.
• Strong problem-solving skills with autonomy and sound technical judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of new chemical products and technologies for customer applications and portfolio expansion.
• Plan and safely execute laboratory projects using literature, experimentation, and data interpretation to solve chemical problems.
• Advance technologies from laboratory development through scale-up, pilot work, and manufacturing, translating technical criteria into manufacturing procedures and process parameters.
• Manage development projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout scale-up and commercialization.
• Communicate laboratory results through clear technical reports and presentations.
• Apply Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement tools to analyze data and establish commercial process/design parameters.
• Participate in continuous improvement, problem-solving, safety, and productivity initiatives.
• Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements and report accidents, incidents, and near misses.
• Support training, mentoring, and assessment of team members while taking ownership of individual development.

• Advance technologies from laboratory development through scale-up, pilot work, and manufacturing, translating technical criteria into manufacturing procedures and process parameters.
• Manage development projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout scale-up and commercialization.
• Communicate laboratory results through clear technical reports and presentations.
