Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems seeks a Senior Chemical Technician to perform analytical chemical analysis, operate lab equipment, and ensure safety and quality compliance in a climate-controlled environment. You will set up equipment, record data, and follow SOPs in a dynamic laboratory setting.

The role requires Vocational/Technical Training with 2–5 years' experience (or equivalent). Preference is given to candidates with an Associate's Degree in Chemistry or related field.

Qualifications

  • Education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience.
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree; Discipline Major: Chemistry or related discipline preferred.
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Analytical chemistry, Calibration, Laboratory equipment operation, Precision measurement, Sample collection, Record keeping, Laboratory equipment maintenance, Scientific testing, Test monitoring, SOP.

Responsibilities

  • Determines the physical and chemical properties of compounds and materials using quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis.
  • Performs a variety of chemical tests using instrumental methods and standard test equipment.
  • Prepares materials for laboratory examination and conducts quality, safety, and compliance assessments.
  • Follows established SOPs and maintains lab equipment.
  • Records and tabulates data and documents observations and results.
