Job summary

OUC - The Reliable One is seeking a Chemical Power Plant Engineer to join the Engineering & Operations team. The role focuses on engineering, project management and safe, reliable generation at Stanton Energy Center, including plant modifications and capital projects.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 4+ years in CC GT power plants, and PMP/PE credentials preferred. The position requires strong technical skills, vendor negotiations, and compliance with NERC/CIP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 4+ years of engineering experience in CC GT power plants including HRSG, gas turbines, and steam turbines.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Chemical Engineering degree preferred.
• Registered Professional Engineer (preferred).
• PMP Certification (preferred).
• Waste water and process water experience (preferred).
• Experience designing or optimizing chemical injection systems in water treatment at power plants (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop and write technical specifications and scope for plant projects, maintain budgets, assist Purchasing with RFPs and bid documents.
• Provide technical support for O&M; review plant data for safe and efficient generation.
• Supervise plant modifications, improvements and labor/contractors during all project phases.
• Write and develop technical specifications for plant projects.
• Assist Purchasing with RFPs, bid documents, vendor evaluations and negotiations.
• Prepare budget justifications for management and CAC.
• Review and implement safety plans, LOTO requirements, schedules, and equipment manuals.
• Inspect test results and process data to ensure best practices and equipment conditions.
• Troubleshoot plant processes to identify root causes and repairs.
• Generate budget proposals for management.
