Pennoni seeks a Chemical Engineer for our Boston, MA team to tackle environmental and regulatory challenges across industrial and manufacturing clients. The role blends technical engineering with client consulting, regulatory interaction, project management, and business development.

You will work on environmental compliance, air quality, wastewater, process safety, hazardous materials, and pollution prevention, delivering actionable solutions and maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• PE licensure or EIT certification is a plus.
• Experience with environmental regulatory compliance and permitting is preferred.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsabilités

• Conduct engineering evaluations of chemical processes for environmental regulatory compliance and process safety.
• Perform environmental compliance audits and develop recommendations for corrective actions.
• Assist clients with responses to regulatory inspections and information requests.
• Prepare air permit applications (minor source, Title V, and Permit by Rule).
• Evaluate and recommend air pollution control technologies and operating requirements.
• Develop tools for calculating and tracking actual air emissions.
• Prepare sewer discharge permit applications and SWPPPs.
• Prepare and oversee regulatory reporting including air emissions and GHG reports, Tier II, and TUR.
• Develop contingency and emergency response plans (SPCC and hazardous waste).
• Facilitate PHAs for facilities under PSM and MA hazardous materials rules.
• Oversee industrial hygiene monitoring and advise on exposure reduction.
• Monitor environmental rulemaking and advise clients on impacts.
• Collaborate with regulators and clients to deliver practical environmental solutions.
