Job summary

Leprino Foods in our Waverly, NY facility seeks a Production Supervisor (Cheese) to lead a team of hourly employees in the Cheese Department, driving safety, quality, and productivity. You will plan staffing, mentor teammates, supervise daily shift operations, and partner with maintenance and quality teams to ensure continuous production and compliance.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in Food Science or Dairy Technology and 5+ years in food manufacturing, with leadership experience, plus

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, with at least 1 year in a leadership/mentoring role.
• Working knowledge of processing or packaging systems and equipment operations.
• Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn SAP or other manufacturing software.
• Able to work weekends, swing, and overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of hourly employees in the Cheese Department, ensuring quality, safety, and production goals.
• Plan and schedule daily staffing to meet production targets while maintaining safety and teamwork.
• Coach and develop team members through feedback and training.
• Promote a culture of trust and accountability through clear communication.
• Oversee daily shift operations to meet productivity, yield, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with maintenance and quality teams to address equipment needs and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, GMPs, and sanitation programs.
