Job summary

31st Union seeks an Expert Character Concept Artist to shape the project's character language. You will translate briefs into production-ready designs, from sketches to turnarounds, collaborating with art and cross-disciplinary teams to ensure concepts meet narrative and gameplay goals.

You will mentor peers, define visual standards, and work with Blender, ZBrush, Maya, and 2D toolsets to support a 3D production pipeline and maintain strong design intent.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of professional concept art experience, with multiple shipped titles.
• Expert knowledge of character development, costume design, and storytelling.
• Strong ability to translate briefs into production-ready concepts that fit narrative and gameplay direction.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop high-quality character designs from exploration to production-ready assets (thumbnails, sketches, turnarounds).
• Translate ambiguous briefs into clear visual solutions aligned with narrative, gameplay, and art direction.
• Define and uphold visual standards, contribute to style guides, and ensure concepts translate well to 3D.
