Job summary

Baptist Health South Florida seeks a Manager of Chaplaincy & Spiritual Care to lead pastoral ministry within our faith-based healthcare system. The role requires overseeing staff chaplains and volunteers, shaping department programming, and guiding ethical governance in a hospital setting.

The position emphasizes strong leadership, clinical pastoral education, and ongoing collaboration with hospital ethics committees to support compassionate care across our facilities.

Qualifications

• Masters.
• Board Certified Chaplain.
• Masters of Divinity or equivalent theological degree.
• Ministerial Ordination in good standing.
• Up to date denominational endorsement for ministry in the healthcare setting.
• Four units of clinical pastoral education or equivalent training and experience.
• Leadership and management experience in a healthcare based chaplaincy program required.
• Board certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains or one who would meet the criteria for certification within one year from employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral ministry aligned with Baptist Health South Florida mission.
• Supervise department personnel including staff chaplains and volunteers.
• Develop and implement departmental programming, policies and procedures.
• Assist in annual budget development and fiscal management.
• Coordinate Ethics Committee involvement and bio-ethics oversight.
• Maintain denominational endorsement and professional ethics.
