Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals LLC in Boston seeks an Associate Director of Strategic Sourcing for CGT Raw Materials. The role leads global category strategies, supplier governance, and cross-functional collaboration to secure uninterrupted CGT material supply for development and manufacturing.

The position requires 8–10 years in strategic sourcing within biopharma, strong negotiation and analytics skills, and a hybrid work arrangement with 3 days in office.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, manufacturing support, CDMO or external partner management within biopharma.
• Proven track record negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings.
• Familiarity with AI-based sourcing, data analytics, automation, supplier intelligence and related tech.
• Knowledge of GMP/ISO regulatory standards and CGT raw materials requirements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to develop CGT raw material category strategies.
• Manage supplier relationships and contract negotiations; ensure quality and regulatory alignment.
• Lead RFx activities, market analysis, risk assessment and long-range planning.
• Drive continuous improvement using data analytics and digital sourcing tools.
• Collaborate across Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance and Legal to ensure supply continuity.
