Job summary

Meridian Consultants, a Trinity Consultants company, seeks a Principal Planning Manager (CEQA/NEPA) to lead client growth and deliver complex environmental planning projects in Southern California. You will mentor teams, oversee budgets, and guide regulatory compliance across public and private sectors.

This exempt role reports to Meridian and Trinity California operations leadership, offering hybrid work from Southern California offices with travel within the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban or environmental planning, environmental science, geography, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in environmental planning and CEQA/NEPA document preparation and management.
• Principal level or equivalent with responsibility for business development, client relationships, and practice or team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Drive business development by leveraging an established client network to grow revenue and backlog.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams to deliver CEQA/NEPA documents on schedule and within budget.
• Provide strategic direction for environmental planning practice and mentor staff.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure efficient delivery of services.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and professional growth planning for team members.
• Represent the firm at industry events and public forums to enhance visibility.
