First Merchants Bank is seeking a Senior Centralized Funding Specialist to join our team. This role oversees the funding of commercial loan transactions, reviews documentation, and ensures compliance with policy and regulatory requirements.

The position supports internal teams and external bank partners. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of loan operations experience, with a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification being a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of loan administrative or operations experience in commercial loans.
• Lean Six Sigma – Yellow Belt Certified is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review commercial loan documentation operational mechanics to determine compatibility with the loan system.
• Collaborate with relationship managers, closer and other LOB personnel to gather information and resolve documentation, closing, boarding and funding.
• Oversee the funding of new and amended loan transactions, ensuring timely disbursement and adherence to approval conditions.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation in loan systems and databases.
• Act as a subject matter expert to guide team members in loan documentation, boarding and funding processes.
• Assist in the development and refinement of documentation procedures and best practices.
• Proficient in syndicated and participation loan transactions.
• Engage in cross-functional project teams.
• Oversee and authorize all outgoing wire transfers and OTEs.
• Identify and escape deal attributes not supported by servicing system.

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Senior Centralized Funding Specialist to join our team! This position plays a critical role in supporting the commercial lending process by reviewing and managing loan documentation, boarding and funding in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Supports First Merchants vision by delivering high performing, knowledgeable, and responsive service to our internal commercial teams and external bank partners. Foster strong relationships through consistent communication, and operational coordination. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and adaptability as Centralized Funding evolves. This position can be remote within our operational footprint.

• Review commercial loan documentation operational mechanics to determine compatibility with the loan system

• Oversee the funding of new and amended loan transactions, ensuring timely disbursement and adherence to approval conditions

• Adapts quickly to changing circumstances and implements effective solutions

• Oversee and authorize all outgoing wire transfers and OTEs (Online Transaction Entry)
• Engage in pipeline, pre and closing calls
• Identify and escape any deal attributes that are not supported by the servicing system or require significant workarounds or manual intervention
• Support loan operations with the onboarding, funding, and quality review of new or amended attorney-prepared facilities
• Prepare and send advance notice and clear to close funding and fee notices to participating banks
• Use Design, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) methodology to improve processes when possible

To be successful in this position, we require the following:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• A minimum of five (5) years of loan administrative or operations experience, in commercial loans.

The following would be a plus:

• Lean Six Sigma – Yellow Belt Certified.
