Job summary

Bergen County is seeking a Supervisor of Senior Citizens Activities for Hackensack Senior Activity Center. The role plans, organizes, coordinates, develops and implements aging programs, and connects residents with community resources and services for older adults.

The position requires an Associate’s degree or higher, strong organizational and communications skills, and a valid New Jersey driver’s license. Bilingual English–Spanish is preferred, with full-time hours from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s degree or higher.
• Bilingual English – Spanish is preferred.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Plans and supervises senior activity programs to enrich elderly lives.
• Teaches social, recreational and educational activities for seniors.
• Organizes and oversees clubs, meetings and group events.
• Increases community awareness and inclusion of older adults.
• Prevents social isolation and promotes active engagement of seniors.
• Maintains essential records and files.
• Oversees senior activity staff and staff schedules.
• Manages workforce input and related coordination.
