Job summary

AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER is seeking a CEMS Engineer (Mid - Sr.) to serve as fleet technical owner for continuous emissions monitoring systems across the gas and coal generation fleet in Columbus, OH. You will lead complex troubleshooting, system reliability improvements, and capital upgrade support for probes, analyzers, DAHS, and data systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering ABET-accredited and 2+ years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with CEMS, process analyzers, power plant I&C or related systems.
• Knowledge of 40 CFR Part 60 and Part 75 compliance.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to generating stations.

Responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause resolution for CEMS hardware and DAHS.
• Provide remote and on-site I&C support for installation, configuration, and calibration.
• Manage vendor and contractor relationships for CEMS/DAHS projects.
• Develop design basis documentation and cost estimates for new equipment replacements.
• Train and mentor plant and engineering personnel; create knowledge-transfer materials.
• Travel to generating stations as required.
