Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 10 years of construction/inspection experience, or completion of 2- or 4-year engineering program.
• Experience on roadway projects and daily records/reports preferred.
• KYTC CEI certifications a plus; training may be required post-hire.
• Familiarity with KYTC specs and documents; strong technical writing skills.
• Ability to learn on the job and operate inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Observe and inspect construction work and prepare daily reports.
• Oversee earthwork, paving, structural work, and lighting installations.
• Coordinate duties and train technical staff on site.
• Review plans and shop drawings for moderate complexity.
• Maintain daily logs and report deviations to management.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, and contractor coordination.
• Advise on non-compliance and support corrective actions.
• Verify highway work zones meet contract requirements.
• Assist in contractor evaluations and other duties as assigned.
• Utilize inspection tools and computer systems for data collection.
• Perform material testing and document test records.
• Drive company vehicle as part of responsibilities.
